Plant pathology is one of the most interesting areas in research, because the interaction between plants and pathogens is often complex. It depends on a high number of factors both at the plant, the pathogen and the environment level. Research on plant diseases and pests includes work on fungi, Oomycetes, slime molds, bacteria, nematodes, viruses, viroids, insects, mites, slugs and weeds. You can be involved in studies on resistance, pathways involved in plant defense, genetics, genomics, defense signaling and biological control.
